Scattered rain of moderate intensity is likely in the provincial metropolis in the next 36-48 hours Thursday (today) and widespread rain of moderate to heavy intensity with chances of hailing is expected on Saturday and Monday.
The westerly wave that entered the country from Balochistan is not prevalent over the upper and central parts. Weather will remain cold and cloudy with temperature staying under 20 degrees Celsius.
The maximum temperature in the city on Wednesday was 23 degrees while the minimum 17 degree Celsius. On Wednesday Bannu received 11 mm rain, Garhi Dopatta 10 mm, Murree, Faisalabad 6mm, Peshawar 3mm, Rawalakot, Cherat, Kakul, Risalpur 2mm, Kotli, Parachinar and Chakwal 1 mm.
More rains with snowfall over the hills at a number of places in the country in coming 5-6 days is likely (from Thursday to Monday) while scattered rain of light to moderate intensity is expected in next 36-48 hours and widespread rain of moderate to heavy intensity is expected during Saturday-Monday.
On Thursday and Friday, scattered rain with thunderstorm is expected in Northeast Balochistan (Quetta, Zhob, Kalat divisions), Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (Malakand, Hazara, Mardan, Peshawar, Kohat, Bannu, D.I.Khan divisions), Islamabad, North Punjab (Rawalpindi, Sargodha, Gujranwala, Lahore, Faisalabad divisions), FATA (Khyber, Kurram, Orakzai, Mohmand, Bajaur, Waziristan agencies), Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir, while at isolated places in Upper Sindh (Sukkur, Larkana divisions) on Thursday/Friday.
