Adviser to Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif on Health Khawaja Salman Rafique has said revolutionary steps are being taken for providing quality healthcare facilities to people in Punjab under Chief Minister’s Healthcare Reforms Roadmap Programme.
Under this programme provision of quality healthcare to patients, special salary package for doctors according to distance of their place of duty, appointments of doctors to fill vacant posts, ensuring presence of doctors, upgrade of infrastructure of hospitals/health centres and availability of medicines as well as bio-medical equipment and provision of machinery to hospitals are being implemented. He stated this while chairing a meeting to review the progress of implementation on this programme, according to a hand out issued on Sunday. Besides, Parliamentary Secretary Health Khawaja Imran Nazir, Secretary Health Jawad Rafique Malik, DG Health Dr. Zahid Pervaiz, Commissioner Rawalpindi Division Zahid Saeed, DCO Rawalpindi Sajid Zafar Dal, Principal Rawalpindi Medical College Prof Dr Muhammad Umer, DCOs of Attock, Jhelum and Chakwal, EDOs Health and the medical superintendents attended the meeting.
In the meeting, detailed briefing was given on the implementation of the instructions given by Chief Minister Mian Shahbaz Sharif about different matters and completion of different tasks within the stipulated period under this programme. Khawaja Salman Rafique said the CM has approved special attractive incentives package for doctors and a comprehensive policy has been prepared after detailed discussion with the health experts, health managers while keeping in view the ground realities, geographical situation and the distance of hospitals in far-flung areas. Secretary Health Jawad Rafique Malik said special steps have been taken to fill the vacant posts.
