‘9,233 arms seized’

LAHOREPunjab Home Minister Shuja Khanzada has said under the National Action Plan as many as 9,233 illegal weapons have been recovered during a general holdup and 315 weapons in a search operation in 10 days. He said this while presiding over a meeting regarding the National Action Plan here Thursday.

Punjab Home Minister Shuja Khanzada has said under the National Action Plan as many as 9,233 illegal weapons have been recovered during a general holdup and 315 weapons in a search operation in 10 days.
He said this while presiding over a meeting regarding the National Action Plan here Thursday. The minister disclosed that 420 weapons have been taken into possession during display of arms and 365 cases had been registered. He said on the violation of ban on display of arms, licences of three Kalashnikovs, 18 rifles, 14 guns and 20 pistols have been cancelled and cases registered against the persons responsible. Khanzada said the arms licenses issued from 2009 to 2014 by the government can be got renewed from Nadra till February 28. He said the issue of new arms licenses will be started at the end of February 2015 and in case of no objection, license will be issued.
