Punjab University has declared the result of MBBS 1st professional part-I annual examination 2014.
Meanwhile, the PU awarded PhD to Sajjad Ahmad, son of Manzoor Ahmad, in Biological Sciences after approval his thesis ‘Protein Engineering of Excellulase/s for Improved Characteristics’.

hostels: Punjab University Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Mujahid Kamran visited boys’ hostels to review security and other arrangements at New Campus on Monday.
Chairman Hall Council Prof Dr Muhammad Akhter, Registrar Prof Dr Liaqat Ali, RO-I Sajid Rashid, RO-II Malik Muhammad Zaheer, wardens and superintendents were present.
Dr Mujahid Kamran inaugurated renovation and upgrade of hostel-1’s mosque, main gates, motorcycle stand and washing area with anti-dengue arrangements.
The VC lauded the efforts of superintendent of hostel-1 Dr Shakil Ahmed for improving the condition and infrastructure of the hostel.
Tevta courses: Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority (Tevta) Chairperson Irfan Qaiser Sheikh has urged the female youth to get admission in Tevta institutes to become skilful professionals, saying the country’s economic development is not possible without the support of women.
Addressing a meeting to review the courses being offered in Tevta female institutes, Irfan Qaiser Shaikh said Tevta was also introducing free short-courses to the female youth according to the needs of the industry and courses like industrial stitching, beautician, kitchen helper, cooking, auto CAD, certificate in computer application, web designing and spoken English were being offered so that females also get opportunities in accordance with “YAQEENI ROZGAR” mission of the chief minister.
Tevta chairperson said the curricula of three-year diploma of Dress Designing and Making (DDM) being offered in Tevta female institutes had been revised as per industry demand and internship was now the part of the said course.
PEF: Punjab Education Foundation (PEF) has decided not to renew contract for its three officers after a departmental inquiry report with regard to unauthorised sale of textbooks and payment by insurance company from insurance corporate emergency pool.
This was decided in the 58th meeting of the PEF’s Board of Directors (BOD) chaired by the PEF’s new Chairman Engineer Qamar-ul-Islam Raja, who is also the Chairman of Punjab Assembly’s Standing Committee on Education.
