‘All set to launch solid waste management project’

Roshan Shaikh, the managing director of the Sindh Solid Waste Management Board (SSWMB), said on Monday efforts were under way for the initiation of a solid waste management project under a coordinated system.
Chairing a meeting in his office to review the board`s ongoing projects, he said that under the new system solid waste disposal would be distributed to six districts for safe disposal by outsourced domestic and foreign companies, along with a monitoring system devised to ensure quality. Sheikh told his subordinates to form technical committees, consisting of experts from civil and mechanical engineers to address technical impediments of the project.
