Law enforcement agencies on Sunday raided the official residence of late Jeay Sindh Qaumi Mahaz (JSQM) chairman Basheer Ahmed Qureshi, confirmed the party’s General Secretary Karachi, Illahi Buksh Bikik.
However, the official informed that no arrests were made and neither was anything confiscated in the raid.
Terming the raid at clear violation of fundamental human rights, he further informed that the LEAs had ordered to remove all party flags and banners from the residence, whereas barriers installed outside the house were also directed to be removed.
Qureshi’s son, Sanan, who was currently heading the party was present at the house with his family at the time of the raid.
The son in his statement also condemned the action and called house raids, conducted without search warrants a violation of the country’s constitution.
He appealed to government authorities to take due action and stop political victimisation of its opponents.
