The Dow University of Health Sciences (DUHS) opened on Monday the fourth Dow Diagnostic Research and Reference Laboratory (DDRRL), Collection Point and Ultra-sound facility in Nazimabad.

 

DUHS Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Masood Hameed Khan on the occasion said that the facility was aimed at providing reliable, high quality and timely reporting diagnostic services, of international standard, to the people at extremely economical rates.

 

He said that three other Dow Diagnostic Research and Reference Laboratory (DDRRL) and sample collection points were already functional at M A Jinnah Road (near Civil Hospital), Rafique Shaheed Road (near Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre) and Malir.

 

These, he said were besides the main lab at DUHS Ojha Campus. Prof. Khan said that the DUHS strived for excellence, so that every patient in need could have safe blood transfusions, quality medicines as well as treatment.

 

He said that DDRRL was also meant to assist researchers by providing quality services on newly-developed clinical kits and products. The DUHS Vice-Chancellor said that the fourth Collection Point established next to the Baqai Institute of Neurology was equipped with the most modern equipment and staffed by highly skilled and experienced technologists, consultants and support personnel.
