KARACHI: Pak Elektron Limited (PEL) net profits surged 83.5 percent to Rs2.126 billion in the half-year ended June 30, 2015, as compared to Rs1.158 billion last year, a company statement said on Monday.
The earnings per share (EPS) clocked in at Rs5.29 for the period and the company declared first interim cash dividend of Rs1.25 per share. The company posted net sales of Rs13.824 billion for the period under review as compared to Rs11.085 billion a year ago.
Extreme hot summer season led to higher sales growth of its appliances division, especially refrigerators whose sales increased by 10 percent.
