LONDON: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s London chapter has distanced itself from a man posing as “senior advisor to chairman Imran Khan on foreign trade, investment & development from Europe in KPK”.
PTI’s newly elected body in London led by Asim Khan on Wednesday said that the elected body had nothing to do with a scandalous news spread by Sahibzada Jehangir through social media about an allegedly official complaint to the Metropolitan Police about this scribe.
In a statement he said: “We are not aware of any such move by any official that represents the party in UK and distance itself from any speculative announcements”. Asim Khan said in the statement that the PTI has “grievances against GEO TV and Jang group” which is the party’s democratic right but the party is “not pursuing any legal action or complaint on any official level against any individual in UK at the moment”.
He said that individuals are not allowed to bring their personal disputes to the platform of the party. “Whosoever is allegedly issuing statements about the alleged incident may be doing it in personal capacity to which the party has no official involvement or knowledge.”Asim Khan took serious notice of some individuals posing as PTI’s or Imran Khan’s representatives as a way of gaining respectability in the community on false grounds.
“Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf in London is officially represented only by those who have been elected through the democratic process of intra-party elections held by the office of international chapters by the approval of the chairman Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf Imran Khan.
“We would like to stress that we believe in professional working relationship with all organisations including media houses, expect professionalism at all times as well as believe in an individual’s right to opinion and cannot be party to an alleged individual or personal dispute. PTI London would like to distance itself from such news, alleged disputes or speculation, if any.”
