According to the police, three dacoits snatched motorcycle from Nisar Ahmad Mohal and his brother near Chak 108/EB and the victims informed the police. After getting information, the police chased the dacoits besides besieging the area. The police intercepted the dacoits near Chak 124/EB. On seeing the police, the dacoits took refuse in a farm and opened fire at the policemen. The police returned the fire. As a result, a dacoit was killed. He was identified as Muhammad Ajmal alias Sharbati of Chak 1T/94, Jaranwala tehsil. The police claimed that Ajmal was wanted in 15 cases of heinous nature and a huge quantity of arms was recovered from him. The police said that the deceased was staying with his friend at Chak 203/EB and allegedly involved in many cases of rape and victimisation of woman in the area. They claimed that the people were reluctant to register a case against him due his fear. Muhammad Sarwar, deceased’s father, and relatives alleged that the police had arrested him when he was sleeping in the house of his friend Saeed Jatt on Thursday noon.
