LAHORE: The Young Doctors Association (YDA), Punjab, has announced to launch a protest movement in Punjab from August 19 after being ditched by Punjab government on its promises.Addressing a press conference here in Sir Ganga Ram Hospital on Tuesday, YDA Punjab President Dr Ajmal and leaders including Dr Amir Bandesha, Dr Shabbir Ahmad, Dr Abid and others said that the young doctors had postponed its protest movement in December last year after an attack on Army Public School, Peshawar, but the government remained unmoved and failed to fulfil its promises with the young doctors in the province. They announced blocking all major roads of Lahore as well as main roads in all districts of Punjab on August 19, which will be repeated on a weekly basis. They, however, said that they would not hold strike in hospitals and doctors will continue to work in emergency wards, outdoor and indoor wards of all hospitals.
