‘Important documents’ against Altaf handed over to UK: Sartaj
Says Ministry of Interior in touch with British authorities

ISLAMABAD: Adviser to the Prime Minister on National Security and Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz on Thursday confirmed that the Ministry of Interior (MoI) had handed some important documents over to the British High Commission about the case registered against the MQM chief Altaf Hussain.
Talking to the media here after addressing a conference on “Afghanistan Reconnected” at a local hotel, he said the Ministry of Interior was in touch with the UK authorities on the MQM issue. Afghan groups to start the dialogue process.
He expressed the hope that with the efforts of international community, the dialogue process will resume soon.Referring to the economic conditions of Afghanistan, he said it needed a lot of help from the international community. He said to ensure economic development, Afghanistan’s political issues should be resolved on a priority basis.
Sartaj Aziz said Pakistan always desired strong economic and trade relations with Afghanistan.
He said the government had increased its engagements with the neighboring countries for good relations.He said a number of decisions had been taken by the government to remove the trade impediments with the neighbouring countries that would help enhance the trade volume.Referring to Pakistan’s ties with Afghanistan, he said both the countries were pursuing a liberal visa policy to give an impetus to trade and economic ties.
