Body to oversee virus situation
Punjab Assembly Speaker Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi has constituted an 11-member All Parties Consultative Parliamentary Committee for overseeing Coronavirus situation in the province and for minimising its impacts on society and provincial economy after consultation with parliamentary leaders of all parties in Punjab Assembly.
According to a notification issued by Assembly Secretary Muhammad Khan Bhatti here Monday, Pervaiz Elahi would be the Convener of this committee and it can also seek cooperation of any federal institution or agency besides the province whereas it will empowered to co-opt any MPA. The committee comprised of Speaker Ch Pervaiz Elahi Convener, Provincial Law Minister Muhammad Basharat Raja, Nazir Ahmad Chohan, Amin Zulqarnain, Sajid Ahmad Khan, Malik Ahmed Ali Aulakh, Muhammad Muavia, Syed Hassan Murtaza, Sardar Owais Ahmad Khan Leghari, Samiullah Khan and Khwaja Salman Rafique.
