H-8 college’s chemistry professor retires
Islamabad : Prof Tahir Iqbal, head of the Chemistry Department at the Islamabad Model Postgraduate College, H-8, has retired on attaining the age of superannuation.
Prof Tahir took up teaching as a profession by choice in 1984 and served the federal education department for over 35 years.
The teaching and non-teaching staff members of the college commended his services for furthering the cause of formal education.
They said despite offers of lucrative employment opportunities, Prof Tahir didn't quit teaching profession and kept educating the young generation.
According to the colleagues, Prof Tahir's way of teaching was very penetrating, passionate and scrupulous and he devoted his time to promoting the ideas on chemistry widely.
The retired head of the Chemistry Department was unconventional, original and inspiring teacher.
The principal, vice-principal and other colleagues extended the best wishes to him for the days ahead.
