This refers to the news report, ‘KU cancels post-graduate student’s admission for inviting Ayyan Ali’ (October 6). As pointed out in the report, “no action was taken against any member of the faculty or staff of the university for letting the model enter the campus”. The KU administration seems to have made the two students scapegoats. The decision is based on ‘penalising the most vulnerable’.
Why was action not taken against the officials concerned directly under whose noses the university security was breached and the model arrived on campus with her armed guards? Situations like this will arise again in the future. Will students continue to be offered up at the altar of the KU administration’s oversights? Will we see the future of more students doomed?
