Credit to the corrupt

This refers to the letter, ‘Appreciating the police’ (September 21) by Muhammad Rafique Khattak. The writer should know that the former Karachi police chief Ghulam Qadir Thebo was removed on corruption charges, and for poor performance. If peace has been restored in Karachi it is largely because of the efforts of the Rangers.
We should give credit where it is due. Incidentally, IG Sindh Ghulam Haider Jamali is also facing corruption case and should have been sacked. The Sindh police have become a deeply politicised force and even criminals have been inducted into it.
