The APS incident in Peshawar cleared all doubts about the gravity of the situation that Pakistan was facing. Obviously, everything is not going to be hunky-dory but certainly the state of Pakistan has avoided a nosedive crash. But history tells us that nations that rise from the ashes march towards stability at a geometric rate. Also, another lesson of history points to the fact that chaos cannot go on unchecked indefinitely and that order has to be restored.
There is no doubt that the military establishment and its current skipper are the vanguard of this new look of the country. However, a cynical question still intrigues people: if our establishment was capable of fixing this issue so swiftly why did it let us bleed this long? One can still hope for a successful, modern and prosperous Pakistan in the years to come.
