Lost in history

This refers to the news report, ‘Fake degree business – Pak company Axact cons billions: NYT’ (May 19). Why are most of our scandals unearthed by international media or agencies? Where are our IB, FIA, CIA, etc? This is the height of inefficiency. A few of our parliamentarians and ministers also held fake degrees, which were discovered quite late. There are flagrant malpractices going on during examinations in Sindh but no action has been taken to punish the culprits.
We have deteriorated a lot over the course of time. Money has become the sole criterion to buy anyone and get anything done. The answer is simple. The day our leaders become honest no one would ever dare indulge in such acts. Severe punishments have to be enforced to set examples.
