The increase in population has led to a rise in the demand of more residential areas, hospitals, schools, etc. But this increased demand does not mean that our governments start ruining the environment by cutting down trees.
Our country has seen deforestation on a large scale. The reasons are varied: urban development, war on terror, use of wood for cooking and the timber mafia. Not only are trees a natural refuge for us from the scorching sun but a precious source of clean air too. Also, they play a vital role in protecting us from floods and other natural disasters.
