Broken roads

The Lahore-Raiwind Road has been in a dilapidated condition for the last six months. The journey from Thokar Niaz Beg to the Raiwind Manga Road should take only 35 minutes; it now takes more than one hour to complete.
The broken road is adding a lot of pollution due to the dusty environment. Some repair was started about five months ago near Sher Shah Colony but it is moving at a snail’s pace. This is perhaps due to the fact that some portion of the road falls under the jurisdiction of the Lahore district while the other is in Kasur. Hence, no one owns it and it remains in a bad shape once it gets damaged. The officials concerned should take measures to provide some relief to those who travel on this route.
