Surprisingly, while prices of petroleum products have plunged by more than 40 percent in the country, a corresponding decline in lubricant prices is missing. Some OMCs have even raised the price of their lubricant products.
I recently bought a 4-litre can of a lubricant and was astonished to find its price had gone up by Rs200. Since lubricants are also a by-product of oil their prices should reflect the relative fluctuations in POL prices.
