Imran Khan recently urged religious scholars to introduce reforms and spend necessary resources to prepare the 2.4 million children who study there to better integrate in society. Moreover, a religious scholar suggested that madressahs that receive foreign funds and are involved in terrorism should be severely dealt with.
There is a need to understand that all madressahs are not involved in terrorism but many of them do propagate hatred against other religions and various sects. Students at such madressahs are required to follow a narrow version of Islamic teachings. Imran Khan is thus suggesting a cure instead of prevention of the disease.
