This refers to the letter, ‘O-levels vs Matric’ (January 6) by Wajih Iqbal. There is an urgent need to reform our education system. The Cambridge system is far better and encourages students to be intellectual rather than waste their life in rote learning. There is a need to reform the matriculation and FSC examination systems on the lines of the Cambridge system.
Moreover, our universities should fairly treat students passing out of the two systems of education like the Aga Khan University. The criteria for admission should be separate for Matric and O-level students. This way everybody will start out equal on the proverbial level playing field.
