PPP protests killings in AJK
LAHORE: The Pakistan Peoples Party held a protest outside the Lahore Press Club to condemn the murder of its workers in Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
The protest was led by PPP Lahore President Samina Khalid Ghurki,Tanveer Ashraf Kaira and Faisal Mir. In her address, Samina Khalid Ghurki said that it had become a norm of the PML-N to kill opposition people. She asked the PML-N ministers to stop promotion of violence and use of lethal weapons in Kashmir, otherwise the situation could get out of control. “If Asif Ali Zardari can make Nawaz Sharif Prime Minister, he can also knock him down whenever he wants,” she claimed.
PPP central Punjab General Secretary Tanveer Ashraf Kaira said the PPP would not tolerate any atrocities in Kashmir anymore. Faisal Mir demanded immediate arrest of Farooq Sikandar who is son of ex-Prime Minister AJK Sardar Sikandar Hayat Khan and is nominated in FIR.
PPP leaders Rana Ashar Nisar,Zahid Zulfiqar, Dr Zia Ullah Khan Bangash, Ashraf Bhatti, Aamir Hassan and a large number of women workers also participated in protest.
