KP governor accepts resignation of KPEC DG
PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa governor has accepted the resignation of Lt Gen (R) Mohammad Hamid Khan as director general of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ehtesab Commission (KPEC).
According to a notification, the governor in exercise of the powers conferred on him under Section 12 (8) of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ehtesab Commission Act 2014 accepted the resignation of Lt Gen ® Hamid Khan.
He had resigned on February 10 due to differences with the provincial government over the amendments in the KP Ehtesab Commission Act that curtailed his powers and also that of the KPEC.
He decided to step down after the provincial cabinet approved the draft of an ordinance to amend the KP Ehtesab Commission Act 2014.
Lt Gen ® Hamid Khan had earlier served as Corps Commander Peshawar and President of the National Defence University, Islamabad. He was appointed the director general of KPEC in October 2014.
