An alleged target killer, said to be involved in several murders, was gunned down in a shoot-out with personnel of the Sindh paramilitary force on Saturday.
According to the spokesman for the Sindh Rangers, the shoot-out took place when the personnel signalled some suspicious motorcyclists to stop near the Aswaan Park, Munir Chowk, Al-Falah area.
As the three accused opened fire at the officers, the personnel retailed and arrested one of them in injured condition while the others managed to escape.
The injured – identified as Asif alias Zaheera – died soon after and he was said to belong to the militant wing of a political party and involved in a number of target killings in Karachi.
The spokesman added that two pistols were found on him and the Rangers was conducting raids to arrest the fleeing culprits.
