Islamabad: The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) on Friday announced the results of the National Examination Board examinations (NEB) Step-III OSCE/Viva (Part 2) taken by Pakistani nationals with foreign basic medical and dental qualifications.
The examinations were conducted by the Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto Medical University in Lahore's Fatima Jinnah Medical University and Allama Iqbal Medical College simultaneously. A total of 270 candidates sat the exam and 210 of them turned out to be successful.
PMDC president Professor Shabir Lehri told reporters that he was committed to ensuring eradication of corruption from the organisation. "For the first time, the PMDC involved the British Council in the NEB examining system to ensure utmost fairness and transparency in the examinations. In Step-III examinations, the total pass rate was 77 per cent," he said.
The PMDC president said the results of the NEB Step-III examinations were declared the same day the examinations were held to avoid anxiety among the students and save their time too. He said previously, the results were announced two weeks after the examinations.
