KARACHI: Member National Assembly Naveed Qamar has expressed displeasure on the false allegations of his role in the Karachi Stock Exchange crash, a statement said on Thursday.
He said that in the last couple of days a news story is appearing in a section of the press, alleging his role in the crash of the Karachi Stock Exchange during his tenure as the federal finance minister in 2008. He termed the allegation baseless and a figment of someone’s imagination. Neither did he have the authority nor did he gave illegal approval of a right issue to anyone. Furthermore, the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) is not bound to carry out any such order if it was given.
