Shopkeepers accused of overcharging

SIALKOT: People have accused the shopkeepers of overcharging here.
Talking to newsmen here on Monday, the people said that overcharging by the shopkeepers had become a routine in the district. They said that the District Price Control Committee (DPCC) had fixed the prices of a number of edibles but the shopkeepers were allegedly violating it. They said that the shopkeepers were charging Rs 780 instead of 770 for a 20kg flour bag, Rs 145 instead of Rs 132 per kg for ghee, Rs 80 instead of Rs 68 per kg for rice, Rs 380 instead of 225 per kg for red chillies, Rs 750 instead of Rs 550 per kg for mutton, Rs 400 instead of Rs 270 per kg for beef, Rs 80 instead of Rs 70 per kg for yogurt and Rs 75 instead of Rs 65 per litre for milk. The people have demanded the district administration take action against the profiteers to provide them relief.
