Crime-free Karachi
By our correspondents
January 19, 2016
The role of the paramilitary Rangers in freeing Karachi from violence and crime is laudable considering the fact that the provincial metropolis had almost skidded into the hands of criminal elements.
The decision to give the Rangers more powers should have been taken earlier. But this belated decision has shown that if criminals are hunted down indiscriminately the crime graph can be brought down in a few days. Now some politicians have started speaking out against the Rangers for obvious reasons because a crime-free Karachi does not suit them.
