Govt to provide road link to Chitral by year end: Pervaiz
ISLAMABAD: Information Minister Senator Pervaiz Rashid said on Friday that the government was committed to provide all weather road link to Chitral by year end and enough funds have been released for completion of under construction Lowari Tunnel.
Addressing office bearers of Chitral Press Club after administering oath to them here he said developed infrastructure and better travelling facilities would ensure increased economic activity in Chitral and provide easy access to tourists from around the world.
He said that the present government would spend a total of Rs 16 billion for completion of the Lowari tunnel project this year while in the past only Rs 7 billion were spent on the project and at that ratio of allocation it would have taken many more years to complete the project. He said that present government’s efforts for early completion of Lowari tunnel were proof of its sincerity towards development of Chitral.
