LALAMUSA: Additional Deputy Commissioner Revenue (ADCR) Amir Shahzad Friday said in the first step Kissan cards would be given to 22,000 peasants out of 82,000 registered farmers.
Addressing a meeting of Agricultural Advisory Committee, the ADCR said land owners, land contractors, partners and growers are also eligible for Kissan card. He said the registered farmers would have to open their bank account in a specific bank by deposited Rs 500.
He explained that farmers who have computerized land record should contact land record centre and then offices of Assistant Director Agriculture (Extension) in three tehsils. Those peasants who have taken land on contract or have share will have to get affidavit from the owner, he said. In future, only the growers who have Kissan card could get subsidy by the government.
The ADCR said 51 agricultural tools have been given at 50 per cent subsidy for the increased yield of paddy field. He said seven dealers had been booked over allegedly violation of piece list (overcharging) and over selling adulterated fertilizers and Rs 904,400 have been fined to 47 fertilizer dealers.
