PARIS: The Extreme E electric off-road championship has added a new race in Sardinia to its inaugural season schedule which now has four events, its organisers announced on Friday.
The Sardinian round will take place from October 23 to 24.
The objective of the Extreme E is to race electric all-terrain vehicles in ecosystems weakened by global warming to draw attention to some of the world´s most pressing environmental issues.
Two races have already taken place, one in Saudi Arabia and the other in Senegal, both won by the RxR team of former Formula One world champion Nico Rosberg.
The next one is scheduled for the end of August in Greenland. A fifth event is on the calendar but its place and date have yet to be specified.
