Door-to-door vaccination campaign opens

LAHORE: A Special vaccination campaign has been launched by Secretary Primary and Secondary Healthcare (P&SHD), Sarah Aslam as per the directions of Punjab Health Minister Dr Yasmin Rashid and Chief Secretary Jawad Rafique Malik here on Monday.

The Door-to-Door Vaccination campaign was launched in the city with an opening ceremony held at Shadman on Monday where all District Health Officers were also present. The special vaccination campaign will run from 26th July to August 10th.

It is pertinent to mention here that special vaccination campaigns were also launched in five major cities of Punjab - Lahore, Multan, Gujranwala, Faisalabad and Rawalpindi on Monday on the direction of Punjab Health Minister Dr Yasmin Rashid. The vaccination campaign will run from July 26 to August 10, 2021.

In the next phase, 40% of the population of Lahore, Multan, Gujranwala and Faisalabad will be vaccinated. 70% of the population of Rawalpindi will also be vaccinated during the campaign. The door-to-door campaign is being run at the

level of Union Council for public convenience in view of the increase in corona cases. Punjab Health Minister urged the people to ensure full implementation of corona SOPs. Vaccination is the only way to stop the spread of the coronavirus. It is imperative that all people over the age of 18 be vaccinated immediately, she said.

According to the Secretary P&SHD Sarah Aslam, the campaign will be launched at the level of union council in view of the need and public convenience. Secretary P&SHD said that vaccination is the real remedy against COVID-19 and its new Delta Variant. During the last 24 hours, the average positivity ratio 3.1 has been recorded across the province. Provincial Capital Lahore positivity ratio recorded 5.6, 1.8 in Faisalabad, 3.2 in Bahawalpur and 2.7 in Multan.
