KARACHI: A teenage girl was found hanged at her house in the Baldia Town locality on Sunday.
According to police, the incident took place in Afridi Colony within the limits of the Madina Colony police station. Upon receiving information, police and rescue workers reached the property and transported the casualty to Dr Ruth KM Pfau Civil Hospital for medico-legal formalities.
The deceased girl was identified as 16-year-old Asma, daughter of Minhas. Quoting the family, police said the engagement of the deceased girl had recently broken, upon which she was disheartened.
The family reportedly said the girl committed suicide by hanging herself with a ceiling fan.
Police said the deceased girl’s father had married twice and he was currently living in Peshawar with his second wife, while the deceased girl used to live with her mother and brother in Karachi. Further investigations are underway.
