He added that proper medical facilities without prescription fee have been provided while all other departments of the hospital have also performed well which is much higher than previous years.

Talking in this regard, Prof Al-freed Zafar said that despite the unfavorable conditions due to Corona's condition, doctors, nurses and paramedics risked their lives to serve the suffering humanity with full professional dedication and hard work. MS LGH Dr Abdul Razzaq, Focal Person Emergency Dr Laila Shafiq, Dr Abdul Aziz and Administrative Doctors were also present on the occasion.

Principal PGMI urged the citizens to strictly implement the SOPs in view of the 4th wave of Corona on Eid-ul-Azha and especially with more responsibility than ever to stay safe from the Indian Delta epidemic. He said that it has been observed that delta virus has proved to be very deadly so any kind of negligence can lead to massive loss of lives.

Prof Al-freed said that vaccination and precautionary measures have become inevitable because life is compulsory for any kind of activity. He clarified that the reunion on Eid-ul-Azha and the movement of relatives from one city to another can lead to the rapid spread of the virus, so people should avoid travel and take care of social distances by sharing the joys of Eid by greeting on mobile phone as modern technology has bridged the distances and you can double the happiness by sending a picture on Whatsapp.

He added that after complete eradication of the disease and reduction in its severity, one can go to visit his loved ones and relatives, however, the current situation requires caution so as not to put extra burden on the staff working in the hospitals. Prof. Al-freed said that the steps taken by the Government for the prevention of corona were commendable and the National Command and Operational Center (NCOC) on the instructions of Prime Minister Imran Khan played a very active role in this regard.

He said that Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar and Provincial Health Minister Dr Yasmin Rashid and other agencies had issued timely guideline alert and taken steps to prevent corona which has helped in controlling the virus.

He further said that LGH continues to provide three meals a day to the patients and caregivers and for the first time in history, shelters and rest houses have been set up as per the vision of the present Government.
