HARIPUR: Unknown armed robbers looted cash from a bank after taking hostage the staff and security guard in Sera-e-Saleh area on GT road here on Friday.
Police quoted the manager of Allied Bank Limited as saying four robbers wearing face masks entered the branch at around 12 noon and one of them first overpowered the security guard while others held them all at gunpoint.
The robbers who were armed with pistols collected Rs6.6 million cash and fled riding a high-roof van. The police said the collection of evidences and FIR registration was underway.
