21 SOs posted in South Punjab to improve service delivery

MULTAN: Twenty-nine Section Officers (SOs) of various departments have been transferred and posted in south Punjab to improve service delivery of the officials of South Punjab Administrative Secretariat and to run its affairs smoothly ion Monday.

An SO is a key post and backbone to bureaucracy in running affairs in all directions. An SO performs multidimensional duties.

The South Punjab Secretariat hung welcome panaflexes and banners in Saraiki language at Multan Circuit house where the first meeting between secretaries and SOs was held here on Monday.

Speaking on the occasion, South Punjab Additional Chief Secretary Saqib Zafar said good governance is being ensured by making the South Punjab Secretariat fully functional.

The shortage of officers in Punjab has been met. Better results are expected from the newly posted officers.

Secretary Health South Punjab Ajmal Bhatti, Secretary Agriculture Saqib Ali Atil, Secretary Services Noshin Jamshed, Additional Secretary Coordination Rizwan Qadeer and Deputy Secretary Admin Abdul Saboor Thakur were also present on the occasion. He said relief can be given to the people only through good governance in government institutions. He said the newly appointed SOs should serve the people without any pressure as the people of the region have high hopes for the South Punjab Secretariat.

The Additional Chief Secretary maintained in order to make the fruits of South Punjab Secretariat available to the people, all the departments have been given the task of improving the infrastructure of the region so that the image of the government could be enhanced.

A separate budget has been allocated for this which will be spent in a transparent manner in all cases. Earlier, the meeting also took stock of good governance and departmental reforms.
