Rains damage crops, orchards in Swat

MINGORA: Heavy rains that lashed Swat district Sunday night damaged crops and fruit orchards in the valley.
It was learnt that the rains also caused damage to houses in various parts of the district. The officials of Rescue 1122 also launched efforts to help the people in need. Up to 15 people, who were stranded at various places, were rescued.
The Rescue 1122 officials pumped out water from various localities. The rain also caused flooding in the Swat River.
Meanwhile, as many as 15 people were injured when a passenger coach fell into a deep gorge in Shah Derhi in Kabal tehsil in Swat.
