Man recovered, two kidnappers killed in Lakki Marwat

LAKKI MARWAT: The police on Sunday killed two kidnappers in an exchange of fire and recovered a man, a senior official said on Sunday.

Speaking at a press conference at his office, District Police Officer (DPO) Lakki Marwat Imran Khan, flanked by DSP Headquarters Iqbal Mohmand, said that Noor Khan, son of Mohammad Zaman, resident of Baz Killay, was abducted on June 27 while coming to Lakki Marwat from Peshawar.

He said that a first information report (FIR) was registered against unidentified accused at Ghazni Khel Police Station, adding, the man was kidnapped some two months back and the kidnappers had demanded Rs5.5 million as ransom.

He said that the Regional Police Officer (RPO) Sajid Ali Khan constituted a special team led by DPO Lakki Marwat for the safe recovery of the abductee and arrest of the accused.

DPO went on to say that the special team, using the modern computerized system, traced the kidnappers' communication signals, raided the rugged mountain of Wargari and recovered the kidnapped person safely after an exchange of fire.

He said that two kidnappers were killed in the exchange of fire and the police recovered weapons, a vehicle and a mobile phone used in the crime from the possession of the accused during the operation. Meanwhile, RPO Bannu Sajid Ali Khan has given special commendation to the special team.
