Weapons seized, three gunrunners held

KOHAT: The police claimed to have seized a huge cache of arms and ammunition and arrested three alleged gunrunners in the limits of Jarma Police Station on Saturday.

Speaking at a press conference, District Police Officer Sohail Khalid said that a police party, headed by Station House Officer Rasool Rahman, was checking vehicles at Muslimabad check-post on Indus Highway after receiving intelligence information about smuggling of weapons. He said that a car (Sindh-AUJ 451) coming from Darra Adamkhel was signaled to stop for checking. The official added that upon thorough checking, the police recovered five Kalashnikovs, 21 pistols, 70 magazines and others. Three alleged smugglers identified as Muhammad Masool, Rahmanullah and Waqas, residents of Lakki Marwat. The DPO said that it was the second attempt of weapons smuggling foiled by the police during the last 24 hours.
