Alvi appoints Zahoor Agha as Balochistan Governor

QUETTA: President Arif Alvi on Wednesday appointed Zahoor Ahmed Agha as the new governor of Balochistan after the former governor Amanullah Khan Yasinzai tendered his resignation. A notification issued from President Alvi’s office said that he has accepted Yasinzai’s resignation and appointed Agha as his replacement. Earlier, Justice (R) Amanullah Khan resigned as Balochistan governor. He submitted his resignation letter to President Arif Alvi Wednesday. It is being reported that he has resigned on the advice of Prime Minister Imran Khan. He was asked to resign because of the political challenges in Balochistan. He was appointed in October 2018.
