Sarina Isa’s open letter to PM
ISLAMABAD: Sarina Isa, spouse of Justice Qazi Faez Isa, on Wednesday invited Prime Minister Imran Khan to face her in a live TV show, showing money trail for her London properties.
Sarina Isa wrote an open letter to Prime Minister Imran Khan after receiving eight notices from the government in petitions filed in her case in the Supreme Court. “Mr Imran Khan, if you are still not satisfied with regard to the London properties and how they were bought, I request you to come on a live television show and face me. I will show the world my earnings, savings, money trail and taxes paid by me and expect that you will do the same,” Sarina Isa said.
She said that a year before that, in 2019, a reference was filed against her husband at a time when her father was undergoing a serious operation. “It has become clear to me that these actions were calibrated and impeccably timed to exert maximum psychological pressure on my husband to resign”, Sarina Isa wrote. “Our troubles started when my husband wrote the Faizabad Dharna judgment. Your PTI government and MQM, your coalition partner, did not like to be reminded about the merciless butchery of citizens on the streets of Karachi on May 12, 2007. You did not like to be reminded about your 126 days 'dance party' at D-Chowk,” Sarina wrote. “And it upset you because my husband declined plots offered to him, which you received; one from the chief minister of Punjab, by filing a false affidavit saying that you do not have property, and another from the then prime minister of Pakistan,” she wrote. “Or are we targeted because we have publicly declared all our assets (on the Supreme Court website) which embarrasses you and your supporters, because you and many in your government pay little or no taxes and cannot justify their fabulous wealth.”
