SUKKUR: After cancellation of the interim bail by the Sindh High Court Karachi, the NAB Sukkur on Monday raided the house of Aijaz Khan Jakhrani in Jacobabad for his arrest.

Reports said the PPP workers had also thronged his residence trying to create hurdles for the NAB to arrest the alleged criminal. They said the PPP workers attacked the NAB vehicles and threw stones at them. However, the Jacobabad Police had controlled the situation. Sources said the NAB Sukkur searched the house but could not find any trace of him. Rafi Jakhrani, son of Aijaz Jakhrani, stated the raid was illegal. He said the NAB action was allegedly pre-planned and on the directives of the Federal Minister Muhammad Mian Soomro.

It is pertinent to mention that the NAB has accused Jakhrani and four others of their alleged involvement in a case of corruption of Rs740 million, whereas, Jakhrani and 12 others have also been facing corruption charges of Rs360 million in another reference. On November 6, the Accountability Court had indicted five accused, including Adviser to the CM Sindh on Prisons, Aijaz Jakhrani, in assets beyond the income case.
