MANSEHRA: The biography of Major Wasif Hussain Shah, who embraced martyrdom in the military operation Zarb-i-Azb, was launched at a ceremony here on Wednesday.
The biography was written by his father.
“My wife and I am still in shock that our beloved son is no more with us, but when we think that he made a great sacrifice for our motherland, we are satisfied. We are grooming his daughter to follow in the footprints of her father,” Arshad Hussain Shah, the writer of the Biography of ‘Fateh-i-Zaramsar’ and father of Major Wasif Hussain Shah told the launching ceremony here. Educationists, lawyers, students and people from different walks of life attended the ceremony. Arshad Hussain paid glowing tributes to the soldiers who laid down their lives during military operations Rah-i-Nijat and Zarb-i-Azb to defeat militancy.
Speaking on the occasion, former judge of Supreme Court Ejaz Afzal Khan said that the Muslims, who sacrificed their lives in Allah’s way, were not considered dead.
Mohammad Munir, an educationist, said that militants were defeated because of the sacrifices of the armed forces.
“Attack on the Army Public School in Peshawar was a turning point in our nation’s life and we succeeded against enemies of our motherland,” he said.
Educationists Umar Gul Khan and Tabbarak Hussain said that Major Wasif Hussain Shah, who embraced martyrdom at Zardamsar Dattakhel in North Waziristan on November 15, 2014 was a role model for youngsters.
