The Covid-19 pandemic has changed our ways to celebrate festivals. This year too, we have to be careful when celebrating Eidul Azha. The number of cases in Pakistan can increase if people don’t follow SOPs during the days leading up to Eid. Hence, the government must be prepared to tackle the upcoming challenges which may lead to another spike in the coronavirus outbreak. People must be informed about the potential risks of the spread of the virus during Eidul Azha in a timely and effective manner. No one should be allowed to set up small cattle markets within cities. People should also be asked to get themselves vaccinated before visiting cattle markets.
Last year, many companies provided online qurbani services to customers. In the time of a deadly pandemic, making the most of these online services will be a wise decision. Encouraging people to engage in this practice will help lessen crowds in cattle markets.
