MANSEHRA: The central and district associations of the patwaris have announced to widen their ongoing strike to four other Tehsils in protest against the posting of what they said a corrupt tehsildar in the district.

“Initially we have locked our offices in Mansehra tehsil alone but also we will soon extend the strike to other tehsils of the district and if the posting order of the corrupt tehsildar is not cancelled, we would widen our ongoing strike to the entire Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province from Monday,” Sarfaraz Abbasi, the central president of the Anjum-i-Patwarian Pakistan, told reporters at the protest camp of his colleagues here on Wednesday.

The patwaris strike in Mansehra tehsil entered the fourth consecutive day on Thursday. The association’s district president Bashir Ahmad Swati also announced the widening of their strike and closure of offices in Oghi, Balakot, Baffa-Pakhal and Darband tehsils while talking to media.

Sarfaraz Abbasi said that tehsildar, Gul Shahzad, was transferred here but later he was also directed to report at the head office in Peshawar one month ago under the financial and moral corruption charges.

“We cannot tolerate posting of such a tehsildar who remained involved in moral and financial corruption here and transferred under punishment but again posted here by an influential mafia to fleece people,” he added.

He said that they would continue their strike and keep their offices shut across the district until the posting orders of tehsildar concerned were cancelled.

Abbasi warned the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa senior member board of revenue to cancel the posting of the tehsildar, otherwise they would widen their strike across the province from Monday.
