Court summons education authorities in contempt plea
MULTAN: The Lahore High Court Multan Bench has taken a serious notice of 30-year delay in the implementation of court orders and sought explanation from Multan district administration and education department, a petitioner’s counsel said. The court has also summoned officials on June 29 for taking action against those committed contempt of court.
Earlier, senior lawyer Syed Athar Shah Bukhari appeared before the court on behalf of his petitioner and argued that Supreme Court of Pakistan had issued an order on February 9, 1991 for handing over one Kanal piece of land to the owners out of Chah Boharwala Girls High School land after measuring 14-Kanal land of the school.
The counsel argued that the school administration ignored the orders of court and used delaying tactics to make the court orders ineffective. However, the school administration remained unsuccessful in repealing the court orders. The LHC Multan Bench Judge Mr Justice Anwar Hussein took serious notice of delay and summoned education authorities to appear before the court by June 29.
