Since 1974, the Sindh government for the first has introduced a new service structure for the librarians and physical education directors working at the state-run colleges of the province.
According to a notification issued by the provincial finance department, as many as 332 positions have been sanctioned each for the posts of physical education directors and librarians. Earlier, around 281 positions for physical education directors and 294 for librarians had been sanctioned at the state-run colleges of the province.
A circular sent by the finance department to the college education department read that the positions of physical education directors and librarians have been upgraded to grade 19 and 20 with a ratio of 33 per cent of the overall 332 in the fiscal year 2021-22.
Also, around 36 posts have been created for the chief librarians. Likewise, 74 positions for the senior physical education directors of grade 18 and 74 posts of the senior librarians of grade 17 have also been sanctioned.
Similarly, around 222 positions of grade 17 for physical education directors have been specified. After introducing the new service structure, a total of 220 directors of physical education and librarians would get an opportunity of promotions in grades 18 and 19.
