Saifullah brothers flexing muscles for LG polls

LAKKI MARWAT: The influential Saifullah brothers have asked their supporters to start preparations for next local government polls as their family will field candidates for the elections on the basis of performance.

Sources close to the family said that former federal ministers Anwar Saifullah Khan and Salim Saifullah Khan held a meeting with the supporters in Islamabad to take input from them about participation in local bodies’ elections.

Matters pertaining to ongoing and new uplift schemes were also discussed in the meeting.

The Saifullah brothers vowed to ensure completion of uplift projects within specified timeframe so that people could benefit from them.

Provincial Minister for Social Welfare Dr Hisham Inamullah Khan, former MNA Ghulamuddin, former district nazims Ashfaq Ahmad Khan Meenakhel and Iqbal Hussain advocate, Malik Idrees Khan and Amir Mashal Khan were in attendance.

The Saifullah brothers asked their supporters to monitor the pace of work on developmental projects in their respective localities.

“The government approved a number of uplift schemes in education, health, communication, water supply, power and other sectors on the request made by them and Dr Hisham Inamullah Khan,” the sources claimed.
